Manchester united traveled to Spain to face La liga side Villarreal at the Estadio de la Ceramica stadium on Tuesday evening.
United were playing in their first game since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was relieved of his duties two days ago with Michael Carrick taking charge of the managerial seat on interim basis.
The game began with Villarreal dominating United in middle of the park as the away side struggled to find their rhythm in the match.

United doubled their lead in the 89th minute of the game as Jadon Sancho scored his first goal for the club with a sublime strike from the edge of the box after he was played through by the influential Bruno Fernandes. The game would end in that manner as the away side secured a vital 2-0 win against their Spanish opponents.
Elsewhere, Bayern Munich also defeated Dynamo Kyiv at the Stadion NSK Olimpiyskiy, Kyiv on Tuesday as goals From Robert Lewandowski and Kingsley Coman secured a 2-1 win for the German side.
Group E table
Bayern munich have secured qualification to the round of 16 stages as group leaders after securing maximum points so far with Barcelona and Dynamo Kiev left to struggle for 2nd place on the table.
Group F table
Manchester united remain top of Group E after their 2-0 win over Villarreal on Tuesday. The English side need just a draw in their final game against Young Boys to qualify as group leaders to the round of 16 stages.
